JAPAN’S CULTURAL HEART
WHY GO
Kyoto mornings, Osaka nights and centuries of history between them.
Kansai contains many of the images travellers first associate with Japan: Kyoto’s temple lanes, Nara’s parkland, Osaka’s neon food streets and the mountain monastery of Koyasan. The density of major sights makes it accessible, but also easy to rush.
Stay in both Kyoto and Osaka when time allows. Kyoto rewards early starts and neighbourhood walking; Osaka comes alive after dark. Nara, Uji, Himeji and Kobe work as focused day trips without turning every day into a transfer.
